Treating ADD & ADHD
With Neurofeedback
Numerous randomized controlled studies have shown that neurofeedback is an effective treatment for ADD & ADHD, improving symptoms in 75-80% of patients.
Understanding ADD & ADHD
Prevalence & Symptoms
Research indicates that ADD and ADHD affect 8-10% of children and are characterized by inattention, hyperactivity, impulsivity, and issues with mood and sleep. Long-term untreated effects often include challenges in academic, personal, relationship, and professional areas of life.
Brain Function
Research has found that abnormal brainwave patterns are associated with ADD/ADHD. There are three abnormal brainwave patterns that can cause ADD/ADHD symptoms, each very distinct. Thus it is vital to evaluate each patient with a quantitative EEG brain map so that treatment can be individualized.
Medication Treatment
Offers short-term improvements in symptoms as long as they are on drugs, but lacks evidence of long-term benefits and has side effects like stunted growth, increased Parkinson’s risk, and chromosomal aberrations.
Neurofeedback Treatment
Numerous randomized controlled studies support neurofeedback as an efficacious and specific treatment for ADD/ADHD, improving symptoms in 75-80% of patients. Improvements in IQ scores have been found in every study where it was measured, ranging from 6 to 23 IQ point increases!
Our Approach to Personalized Care
Our scientifically objective brain mapping reveals the unique brainwave patterns of each patient, allowing individualization of neurofeedback treatment to focus on the root cause of problems. Dr. Hammond conducts all neurofeedback sessions personally. Technicians are not used.
